“I believe there is beauty everywhere. It’s just the way you look at it.”
Ruth Brown’s joyful perspective on life can be seen in her photographs. From the moment she picked her first Canon aged 11 as a girl growing up in England, Ruth has never let go of that initial sense of wonder. Born out of this longstanding passion for photography, Fluidphoto showcases some of her work undertaken from her base of Wanaka, in New Zealand’s South Island.
A formally trained, fully qualified professional photographer, Ruth holds a BA Honours degree in Fine Art and an MA in Digital Media Art. The exceptional quality of her photography, however, comes from a combination of talents that is very unique to her: an eye for composition, second nature knowledge of what her cutting edge photographic equipment can achieve, a perfectionist artistic streak but also this optimistic, fun personality that puts subjects at ease and gets straight to the heart of things.
Whether roaming the world on photographic journeys or working on commission for a wedding or commercial assignment, Ruth’s twelve years of professional experience mean she is prepared for the unexpected. She knows the importance of getting it right, because that time – the hours spent staging a photo-shoot or the emotion of a special moment – can never be clawed back.
Ruth’s photographic and post production skills enable her to masterfully play with a vast range of styles – contemporary or timeless, edgy or picturesque, humorous or atmospheric, posed or photo-reportage. Whatever genre you choose, Ruth will create photographs you will be proud to own.
Her images tell a story. You can count on her to tell yours beautifully.
