Epic 'Game of Thrones' styled wedding shoot

Winter is finally here and what better way to celebrate than have an awe-inspiring 'Game of Thrones' wedding shoot, based here in the magnificent Wanaka mountains.

I adore collaboration with other creatives and this styled shoot is one of my favourites yet. Featuring the combined talents of Road To Beauty - Freelance Makeup Artist & Beauty Therapist, Crimson - Wedding Flowers, Astra Bridal, Structure for Men, Silk & Honey plus the gorgeous Bel Jones, Ben Logan & Maska the malamute as their dire wolf.

Take your time and enjoy this 'Game of Thrones' wedding. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did creating it!

Kath & Brandon's Awesome Central Otago Omakau Wedding

Kath and Brandon... The most relaxed, fun and gorgeous couple ever! Married in January at what has fast become my favourite venue - the Homestead and Woolshed on Racecourse, Omakau - their wedding was a most love-filled splendid day.

Starting with the groomsmen prep was a great introduction to how the day would pan out. Brandon and his boys were so much fun I knew our location time and the reception later would be a blast. Kath and her ladies were getting ready back at the historic Homestead. Amongst the bridal prep of hair & makeup the excitement was building, the flowergirls and bridesmaids together creating a whirlwind of joy and laughter.

Kath & Brandon's beautiful wedding ceremony was followed by location photos in the surrounding area. I adore everything about Central Otago landscape, so a few rain showers did absolutely nothing to deter our stellar bridal party from enjoying it all. I'll let the photos demonstrate how fantastic the afternoon was.

Kath and Brandon, it was such a pleasure to capture your amazing day. A lifetime of love and happiness to you both.

Kate & Peter's Fabulous Stoneridge Estate Arrowtown Wedding

Kate and Peter... oh, wow, what a wedding this was!

Kate had told me previously that ‘Live, Laugh, Love’ was the phrase for the wedding and this perfectly summarises the fabulous and very full day filled with laughter and joy. From their pre wedding venue of Wharenui Estate to the Arrowtown Hall (which looked beyond amazing with all the decorations & peonies!), I loved every moment I spent with this fun-loving couple along with their many family & friends. I even came back the next day to capture some post wedding photos, but that’s another story...

Here are a few of the many favourite moments for me:

Kate sang herself down the aisle   Peter’s 4 sons along with his brothers plus Kate’s son Presley were included in the bridal party   Presley had the important job of being the ‘Ring Security Guard’ aka ring bearer   Location photos were at Michael Hill golf club as well as Arrowtown  Kate & Peter’s wedding cake made of 3 tiers of goat, sheep and cow cheese   Rhinestone messages on their shoe bottoms   Kate’s bouquet charm of her day   And... so many peonies!!!!

The fabulous team behind this amazing wedding included:

Flowers - The Vase Flora and Foliage – with peonies grown by Rochelle Dillon
Hair – Star Power Hair
Dress – especially made by Kaye at Brides by Donna Rae
Videography – Queenstown Wedding Video
Ceremony venue – Stoneridge Estate Queenstown
Reception venue – Arrowtown Hall
Pre-wedding and day after venue - Wharenui Estate, Arrowtown

Rie & Mischa's Epic Destination Post-Wedding Shoot Wanaka

I loved everything about the afternoon I spent with Rie & Mischa for their fabulous post-wedding shoot here in Wanaka. Travelling from the USA and wanting a wedding-style shoot for their day, we had a first look once both Rie & Mischa were ready.

It was a super windy day but Aspiring Helicopters got us up to Coromandel Peak. Dramatic clouds combined with the epic landscape plus a gorgeous couple made me a very happy photographer!

Back on the ground we headed to the lake for some photos followed by the park. Being professional frisbee players the couple had a game; my first time seeing a bride in her wedding dress playing like this!

This amazing afternoon was organised by The Wedding Company New Zealand. Hair by Absolutely Fabulous Hair, Makeup by Gemma MakeUp Wanaka, flowers by Crimson Wedding Flowers and transport by Aspiring Helicopters plus of course myself at Fluidphoto.
